Voltline started in 2011 with one van and a licence. Fourteen years later there are five trucks and ten people, and the same rule we opened with: quote it honestly, pull the permit, and leave the panel better labelled than we found it.
We stayed residential on purpose. Commercial work pays on ninety-day terms and ties your best electricians to one site for months. We would rather be the shop that can get to your house this week, and put the same person in front of you every time you call.
Most of us live in the neighbourhoods we work in. That is not a line for the website - it is why someone picks up at nine at night, and why we will tell you your panel is fine when it is.

- You get a written number with the scope on it. If we find something behind the drywall, we stop and re-quote — we do not run up an invoice and hand it to you at the end.

No. Quotes are free, including the visit when a job needs eyes on it. The only thing we charge for up front is diagnostic work — tracing a fault that nobody has identified yet — and that $149 comes off the repair if you hire us.
How soon can you actually get here?
Same week for most work, and usually within a day or two in Winter Park and Maitland. Anything unsafe — burning smell, sparking, a hot panel — we answer 24/7 and come out that night.
Do I really need a permit?
For panel work, service changes, EV chargers and rewires: yes, in every jurisdiction we work in. We pull it and book the inspection ourselves. Unpermitted electrical work is the thing that surfaces during a home inspection two years later and costs you at closing.
Will you work on an older house?
Most of what we do is older houses. Cloth-insulated runs, aluminium branch circuits, three generations of amateur wiring in a College Park bungalow — none of that is unusual. We will tell you what has to be fixed and what can safely be left alone.
Can I supply my own charger or fixtures?
Yes, and plenty of customers do. We will tell you honestly before we start if the unit you bought is a poor match for your service, rather than installing it and letting you find out.
What if you find something once you have opened it up?
We stop and re-quote. You get a call with what we found and what it changes before any extra work happens. We do not run up an invoice and hand it to you at the end.
